The Northern Lights Photo Tour to the Stone People of Sundurun is the first winter tour to these unique places where nature has created amazing landscape structures in the middle of the Yakut tundra.
The first summer expedition to Bale Urukchen Sundurun in order to study the route was made by us on August 1-16, 2020, which laid the foundation for the birth of this tourist route in the Arctic part of Yakutia. Bale Urukchen Sundurun are stone outliers with a height of up to 30 meters, composed of sandstones and quartz. The area of the outliers is about one hundred square kilometers. The Even name of this area is Bale Urukchan Sundurun, which means "The Stone People of Sundurun". The Yakut name of these outliers is Kisilyakhi (Kisi is a person, Kisilyakhi is an area with people). The rocks of the outliers are very similar to the figures of people. There is a second name - the Singing Stones. Located on the hilly hills of the tundra, these outliers, with a height of up to 30 meters, in combination with the terrain, create a unique landscape that is not found anywhere else on our planet.
